Volunteer Work

Doing what I can for my community

Following is a small collection of my reflections during my volunteer journey in the past few years. I am really grateful for the chance to give back to the community, whether it was helping out at events, creating something to brighten someone’s day, or using my passion for music and art to help raise funds for meaningful causes. These experiences have taught me that even small efforts can bring joy and make a difference. I have learned a lot and feel thankful to have been part of something so meaningful.

MoCa PAP Seniors Walk & Shop

I joined the MoCa PAP Seniors Walk & Shop event at Blk 52 Kent Road. It was a heartwarming morning spent playing BINGO with seniors and helping to prepare and serve lunch. Seeing their smiles reminded me how small acts of kindness can be. I’m glad I got to be part of it.

What made the event even more meaningful was that 90% of proceeds from sales of my postcards would go to community causes.

In 2022, I took part in Amity, an art fundraiser to support humanitarian aid in Ukraine. I was only 9 at the time, but I wanted to do something to support the citizens of Ukraine. I painted a sunflower, Ukraine’s national flower and a symbol of hope, using bright and cheerful colours.

Volunteer Work Awards

Being part of the volunteer journey has been a really meaningful experience. Helping others and giving back to the community has taught me so much and made me realise the impact we can have. While I’m thankful for the awards and certificates which some organisers issued, what means the most to me is the experience itself and knowing that I’ve been able to make a difference.
