Pameran Poskad 2022
From 3 to 11 December 2022, I had the exciting opportunity to exhibit my artwork at the Pameran Poskad 2022 exhibition, held at ION Art Gallery in Orchard. This unique community art exhibition showcased over 4,000 postcard-sized artworks from more than 470 artists, and I was proud to be one of the youngest participants.
Pameran Poskad is a community art exhibition that invites people of all ages, from professional artists to students and hobbyists to create postcard-sized artworks for display and sale. It’s organised by a group of artists and volunteers who believe that everyone should have a chance to share their art. What makes it even more special is that part of the proceeds from artwork sales go to support community and charitable causes. It felt special to know that my small pieces of art could help bring cheer to others and contribute to something bigger than myself.
The theme for my postcards was inspired by two things I love;cats and food. I created playful illustrations featuring curious cats interacting with everyday treats like sushi, toast, and cupcakes. Through these whimsical scenes, I hoped to make people smile and feel a little joy just by looking at them. I also experimented with bright colours, bold outlines, and soft textures to give each postcard its own personality.
The gallery was filled with creativity. There were postcards of every style—some funny, some thoughtful, and others beautifully detailed. Seeing my own work displayed among so many amazing artists, both young and old, made me feel encouraged and inspired.
