Academic Awards and Activities
Receiving these academic awards were meaningful milestones throughout my learning journey, but to me, what matters more is the learning process and the knowledge I’ve gained along the way. The awards were never the goal - They were simply outcomes that followed from the effort and growth I experienced.
Behind each subject were hours of exploration, challenges that tested my understanding, and moments of clarity that made the journey worthwhile. I’m deeply grateful to my teachers for their guidance and to my parents for their constant support and encouragement.
As Distinction winners for the MOE Innovation Programme in MGS, our group was Nominated to participate in the Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors’ Award 2025 (Open Category)
It was an honour to be selected to participate in this programme, having sat for the placement test and with only ¼ of participants clearing the test for the IvP. Our journey in IvP was complicated, with time constraint, addressing the practicality of our ideas something we grappled with. I learned a lot about working in a team during the process.
As one of the 3 groups in IVP being awarded Distinction for our project, we were overjoyed. Our group was also selected to presented our project to Class P4.3 in 2025.
I am deeply grateful to my parents and teachers for their unwavering support and encouragement, which have been instrumental in helping me achieve the Edusave Scholarship Award.

The story follows a conversation with Mulbie, a young hermit crab living by the beach with his mother. In it, I included a heartfelt call to action about beach pollution and responsible waste disposal, with a poignant twist at the end.
My team and I also received the First Place Award at the MIT AI and Education Hackathon for our project Trash to Treasure.
Using AI and machine learning, we developed a solution that identifies and repurposes recyclable waste. It was an intense but rewarding experience that sparked new ideas for real-world impact.
In July 2024, my team and I were honoured to receive 1st Place in the Poster Competition at the MIT AI & Education Summit in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Our project, “Cost-Effective Smart Household Water Usage Tracker Using IoT,” was among fewer than 20 selected from over 80 global submissions. As the youngest participants and the only team from Singapore, we were thrilled to be given the opportunity to present our work at such a prestigious event.
I volunteered together with a few of my friends in my Primary 5 Higher Chinese class for this programme. My duty as a Reading Ranger involved coming to school earlier on Friday mornings to spend 30 minutes reading chinese books to selected Primary 2 students to help them with their mandarin.
I enjoyed reading books and teaching chinese to my junior, and seeing her growth throughout the programme which ran in Term 1 and 2, 2024.
My friend Eliza and I were honoured to be selected to co-write an article for MGeSprit, our school’s Biannual newsletter.
The article represented our thoughts and experience on our P4 Reality Outside Classrooms (ROCs) programme which aims to build resilience and determination in the Primary 4 cohort via a 2D1N sleepover in the school’s multi-purpose hall.
In 2022, I was awarded the Edusave Certificate of Academic Achievement in recognition of consistent academic performance and good conduct.

In 2021, I received the Edusave Good Progress Award in recognition of significant improvement in my academic performance. It was a meaningful encouragement that motivated me to keep learning and growing.
